Record Club is a musical project initiated by Beck Hansen in June 2009.
The purpose of the project is to cover an entire album by another artist in one day, using an informal and fluid collective of musicians. Albums covered as of July 2010 are The Velvet Underground's The Velvet Underground and Nico, Leonard Cohen's Songs of Leonard Cohen, Skip Spence's Oar, INXS's Kick, and Yanni's Yanni Live at the Acropolis. Video footage of every performance has been made available on Beck's website.

Record Club 4 features Annie Clark and Daniel Hart and it is fantastic!

From Beck's site:

Record Club No. 4 is here…! Joining in this time we had three of my favorite bands— Liars, Annie Clark and Daniel Hart from St. Vincent, Sergio Dias from the legendary Brazilian band Os Mutantes, as well as RC veteran Brian Lebarton, just back from the Charlotte Gainsbourg tour. The record covered this time was 1987 blockbuster ‘Kick’ by INXS. The record was chosen by fellow Aussie, Angus from the Liars. It was recorded in a little over 12 hours on March 3rd, 2010. It was an intense, hilarious, daunting and completely fun undertaking. Thanks to everybody for being there and putting so much into it. Many classic moments, inspired performances and occasional anarchy. We’ll post the songs consecutively in the album’s original sequence. First one up is “Guns In The Sky.”     ....

Though I take French, I can't gleam many details from this page besides the obvious: amazing recording of St. Vincent performing (somewhere in France, I assume) with Andrew Bird. Her set included "What Me Worry" and "Black Rainbow," both of which include some improv from Andrew Bird on violin.

We wrote fondly about St. Vincent's Actor and its weirdly unknowable protagonists. Even though it's her face on the cover and in the videos, you never can tell if Annie Clark's singing about herself or a character she's invented, whether she's feeling something for real or if she's acting. Along with her unique song constructions and songwriting sense, it's a large part of what makes her work interesting. See, for instance, this first-person Actor bonus track "Bicycle," another example of her compositionally and emotionally complex output. It's streaming at HypeM. And, remember, she'll be joining David Byrne's camp at Bonnaroo.
